Customers of Virgin Media O2 experienced an overnight internet outage affecting broadband services. This also impacted business and datacentre grade connectivity circuits.
Virgin Media O2 announced they were aware of the issues and were "working to identify and fix the problem as quickly as possible".
The company’s website was also inaccessible at 08:00 BST, meaning customers could not use the status checker which advises users on the situation of core connectivity. By 10:00 this had been resolved.
Our datacentre’s connectivity profile utilises various ethernet channels, one of which traverses Virgin Media O2’s core network. This subsequently affected a number of our hosted business solutions. Connection issues were first detected at 00:30 and were fully restored by 08:15 BST.
