We are pleased to provide regular financial support to Muse, a Counselling and Wellbeing Support Service, to ensure they are able to continue their vital services. Muse stands for Mental Understanding, Support & Empowerment, and they are a not-for-profit community agency with charitable purposes. They support individuals who are or at risk of being caught up in antisocial or crime related behaviour, and their families. These people are often marginalised in society as problematic as often there isn’t an in-depth understanding of contributing adversities, leaving such people and their families feeling judged, excluded and overlooked.
Muse provide support through psychotherapy/counselling, couples counselling, family support and therapeutic group work. Their aim is to support individuals, families and communities to achieve the knowledge and skills to make positive decisions. They have a small team of eight sessional staff/volunteers consisting of qualified psychotherapists and counsellors who are all members of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists and are trained to work with this specific cohort.
Simon, Lyndon, Dave (owner of the BMW specialists Eden Motors of Yeovil) and long-standing friend of the business Colin took part in Wacky Rally 2022 – Europe’s favourite banger rally. 2022’s rally was entitled ‘Barmy to Barcelona’ and was a breath-taking journey through the Swiss Alps, the rolling hills of Italy, the French Riviera, and finishing at the Spanish capital Barcelona.
The challenge was to buy or obtain a roadworthy vehicle for under £300 and 'personalise' in a variety of glorious and imaginative ways. Past designs have included the bat-mobile, various animals, pirate ships and tanks… This year Mark One’s design turned a BMW 5 Series Tourer into a Safari Jeep.
Although great fun, it is a real challenge… our team spent many hours prepping the vehicle in the build up to the event weekend… then they took the long 1,749-mile drive over a long weekend. They faced many obstacles over the weekend but all came back in one piece and smiling… although completely exhausted, raising over £500 for Cruse Bereavement Support!

Derriford Children's Ward help all children and young people feel safe, cared for and as happy as can be. A hospital can feel like a lonely and scary place and donations to DCW helps them buy new equipment and toys to make the experience easier. When a child is in hospital for a very long time, they use donations to help support families who are finding it really difficult.
