At Mark One Consultants, we are proud to support Spark Somerset with their IT needs, empowering them to launch impactful initiatives like the "Volunteer – Your Time, Your Way" campaign. This campaign, funded by the Government’s Levelling Up scheme via Somerset Council, aims to inspire more people to volunteer by showcasing the diverse opportunities available and addressing common barriers to volunteering.

Recent research highlights a growing demand for volunteers, particularly since the pandemic. However, many potential volunteers face challenges such as time constraints and a lack of skills or experience. Spark Somerset’s campaign seeks to overcome these hurdles by promoting flexibility and the various benefits of volunteering, from skill development to community engagement.

Hester Watson from West Somerset Green Forum and Saphron Gafney from Yeovil Railway Centre shared their positive volunteering experiences, emphasizing the fulfilment and new skills gained. Spark Somerset’s head of operations, Nina Hurst-Jones, encourages everyone to explore the wide range of opportunities available through their dedicated website, Spark a Change.

Let's support our community and make a difference together.
