New PostContinuing Our Support for The Lord’s Larder Food Bank This Christmas
by Jon Budzynski - Wed 10 Dec 2025Once again this Christmas, the Mark One team is proud to support The Lord’s Larder Food Bank and the vital work it does across Yeovil and the surrounding area. As a local business, supporting a charity that directly helps people in our own community feels especially important at this time of year.
The Lord’s Larder Food Bank is run by Yeovil Christian Support Trust and provides emergency parcels of non-perishable food to people in crisis, working through recognised local agencies rather than directly with individuals. Donations of food and money from churches, businesses, schools and community groups are sorted and packed by volunteers, then distributed across a wide area including Yeovil and neighbouring towns.
Why this support matters
Recent years have seen consistently high demand for food support across Somerset, with local food banks reporting rising need as more families struggle with everyday costs. By contributing long-life food items and other essentials, The Lord’s Larder helps ensure that individuals and families facing hardship do not have to go without basic meals.
This year, our team has once again collected non-perishable food items to donate to The Lord’s Larder in time for Christmas. These contributions will be added to parcels distributed through local agencies to people who need a little extra support over the festive period.
How others can help
If you would like to support The Lord’s Larder, you can find information about how to donate food, make a financial contribution, or see their current “most needed” items on the Lord’s Larder pages of the YCST Yeovil website. Even a small donation can make a real difference to someone locally this Christmas.
