Mark One take on the Bath 50 Ultra Challenge
by Ben Grave - Fri 21 Mar 2025After a few years away from the trails, the 'I.T. Hurts' team is back and ready to tackle their next challenge—the Bath 50 Ultra Challenge on March 29th!
Lyndon, joined by his Dev team colleague Luke, will be lacing up their boots once more. This marks their third major event following previous feats like the gruelling 100k Jurassic Coast Walk and the challenging 50k South West Coast Walk from Dunster Castle.
This year's walk carries an extra special significance. Recently, Lyndon suffered a personal loss when his extended family member, Suzanne Lee, passed away following a rapid and devastating battle with cancer. Suzanne, who had dedicated much of her life to caring for others as Sister of the Intensive Care ward at Yeovil District Hospital, sadly went from vibrant health to a rapid decline in just a few months. Her passing has deeply impacted her entire family, including her daughter Kerry, sister Hayley, and grandchildren Ophelia and Brody.
In Suzanne's memory and to honour the joy, kindness, and laughter she brought into the lives of everyone she met, the 'I.T. Hurts' team is dedicating this challenge to her. If you would like to support their efforts and contribute towards vital cancer research, please consider donating via this link: Suzanne Elizabeth Lee Memorial Fund.
With just over a week left before the event, Lyndon and Luke have been diligently training at weekends, preparing themselves for the 50km journey ahead—and admittedly feeling some apprehension about the elevation!
At 8:00 AM on March 29th, the duo will set off from Bath Racecourse, initially following the blue route, transitioning to the red route past one of our valued clients along the River Avon. From there, they'll venture along the scenic Cotswold Way, across the iconic Dundas Aqueduct, and finally rejoin the 29km blue route loop back to the Racecourse. Awaiting them at the finish line will be a much-deserved glass of fizz to celebrate their accomplishment.
Thank you for your support—every contribution helps make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer.
